FOLFOX (5-FU, Leucovorin, Oxaliplatin) and FOLFIRI (5-FU, Leucovorin, Irinotecan) are backbone regimens in the treatment of colorectal, gastric and other gastrointestinal cancers. These are typically administered as fortnightly infusions and may be combined with targeted agents such as Bevacizumab or Cetuximab based on molecular profiling. At Dr. Joshi's Cancer Centre, patients receiving these regimens are carefully monitored for peripheral neuropathy (Oxaliplatin), diarrhoea (Irinotecan) and myelosuppression. Dose modifications are made promptly when needed, and supportive care is integrated from day one. Patients with RAS/RAF wild-type tumours may be offered additional targeted therapy alongside these regimens.
