BEP (Bleomycin, Etoposide, Cisplatin) is the internationally accepted standard chemotherapy regimen for testicular cancer and other germ cell tumours. It is one of the great success stories of oncology — achieving cure rates exceeding 90% in early-stage disease. At our centre, BEP is administered in carefully monitored cycles with close attention to pulmonary toxicity from Bleomycin and renal protection during Cisplatin administration. Pre-hydration, electrolyte monitoring, anti-emetic support and regular tumour marker surveillance (AFP, b-hCG, LDH) form part of every BEP treatment plan. Dr. Joshi has extensive experience managing this regimen and supporting patients through a course of treatment that, while intensive, carries excellent long-term prospects.
